Michael T. Beavers (Mike) is currently Chief of Investigations for the Virginia State Corporation Commission Bureau of Insurance. Mike has been with the Bureau for over 27 years. He has worked as an Investigator, Senior Investigator, and Investigations Supervisor for the P&C Agent Investigations Section and the Real Estate Settlement Agent unit (formerly CRESPA unit) for the Agent Regulation and Administration Division. His current responsibilities include the operational oversight of all three of the Bureau’s investigation units which are responsible for the investigation of agents, agencies and companies for violations of Virginia insurance laws and insurance regulations as well as enforcement of the laws pertaining to Title Settlement Agents. Mike has also worked on legislative matters for the Bureau for the past 19 years and testified before several committees on agent related issues.
Prior to his employment with the State Corporation Commission, Mike was a full time private investigator with a firm in Richmond for five years. He holds a Bachelors degree in Administration of Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mike has earned the professional designations of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Certified Insurance Examiner, and Certified Insurance Counselor.
