Construction Risk & Insurance Specialist

What is CRIS?

The Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) program is a continuing education curriculum created by IRMI focusing on the insurance and risk management needs of construction projects and contractors. Those who complete the program are entitled to display the CRIS designation to certify their knowledge of construction insurance and risk management as well as their dedication to the construction industry.
 
Core Curriculum:
  • Commercial Auto, Surety, CIPs and Miscellaneous Lines
  • Commercial Liability Insurance for Contractors
  • Contractual Risk Transfer in Construction
  • Property Insurance for Contractors
  • Workers Compensation for Contractors
  • Optional Course: Fundamentals of Construction Risk Management and Insurance
You have 60 months from purchase of an online course or start of classroom course to complete designation.
 
How to Maintain Your Certification:

Once you earn the CRIS certification, you will have 24 months to complete 6 hours of CRIS CE credit.  After the initial 24-month term, you must complete 7-hours of CRIS CE credit annually to continue using and displaying the CRIS certification.
 
Other Ways to Obtain Reaccreditation:

Another option for renewing your designation is to attend or participate in other approved conferences, seminars or educational programs (See a list of approved programs).
